News You Need:
College Applications Are Now Open!
College applications are open and students can begin applying. Seniors need to have their applications in by November 1st in order to be eligible for any merit or need based scholarships.
College Go Week is Sept 25-29. This will be a great time to get your applications in because several Indiana colleges will be waving their application fee that week. CLICK HERE to check out the 2023 Waived Applications! (Scroll down)
Students will be meeting with Mrs. Truman individually to touch base and answer any questions regarding the application process. It would be wise for students to spend some time exploring CommonApp prior to their time with Mrs. Truman so that they can input their schools of interest and have a clear picture of what will be required for their application to each university. It would also be wise for students to begin considering which teachers they would like to reach out to for letters of recommendation in order to be considerate of deadlines.
Mrs. Allen is available during 7th period for “Senior Support” to connect with seniors for essay support. Students can email Mrs. Allen ([email protected]) to set up an appointment. Students will also be called down several times throughout the year for needed points of connection.
Note: During the spring of 2023, all ECHS juniors wrote a “Common App Essay” of choice in English/Language Arts class. Students are encouraged to strengthen these essays for college admission use.
A “Senior Support Google Classroom” has been set up this year to serve as a platform and communication hub for the ECHS Class of 2024. The latest senior updates on application deadlines, essay support, College GO Week, etc., will be posted here for all senior students to access.
If you have not created a Parchment account please do so ASAP! Parchment is how you will view and send your transcript. There is a join code that has been sent to your ECS email. Please use that code to create your account.
Any scholarship opportunities that become available will be posted to the Senior Support Google Classroom, as well as here on this website for parents to see.
The application for the USI Pre-Medicine B/MD program scholarship is now open and can be found at:
Applications will be due Nov 17 and all supporting documents (application to USI, transcripts, letters of recommendation) are due by Nov 20 at noon. Official test scores will be needed before interviews take place.
