Fine Arts Overview
At Evansville Christian School, we believe a strong arts program is a vital component of a well-rounded education. Our Fine Arts department exists to encourage community, strengthen students’ individual growth, and express the heart of our Creator. Through electives, clubs, and extracurricular activities, students hone their artistic gifts and experience the joy of honoring God through excellence.
Created by the Creator to Create
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus,
so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
Our Fine Arts program is broken down into three categories: music, drama, and visual arts. From preschool to high school, students have opportunities to explore a variety of mediums, participate in schoolwide performances, and discover new talents to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Preschool/Elementary
Our youngest learners are introduced to art and music through their special classes. From painting their own masterpieces to learning to play the recorder, students learn to appreciate art and become motivated to express their creativity. Older elementary students have opportunities to participate in Select Choir, Art Club, musicals, and more!
Middle School
During the middle school years, students begin to appreciate the important role of art in history. Students have several extracurricular opportunities such as the Worship Team, Art Club, and more!
High School
Engaging courses such as 3D Art, Printmaking, Concert Band, and Choir allow high school students to explore their passion for the arts. Students make lifelong memories participating in Jazz/Pep Band, Worship Team, Art Club, extracurricular activities, and competitions.
Making a Lasting Impact Through Art
We view art as a gift from God; a means by which we can share Christ with others and reach those who might not otherwise hear the Gospel. Students at ECS use their creative gifts to bless others each year. A few opportunities include visiting the Evansville Rescue Mission, singing at nursing homes, and partnering with Binding Thread to reach orphans in Myanmar.
