CLEP
An increasing number of high school students are getting a head start on earning college degrees by taking CLEP® exams. Did you know that in 90 to 120 minutes your teen could earn three or more credits and save an average of $2,700 on one three-hour college course?*
About CLEP:
- CLEP offers 34 exam subjects, including college composition, college algebra, and more.
- CLEP is accepted by approximately 2,900 U.S. colleges and universities.
- CLEP is available year-round at more than 2,000 CLEP test centers nationwide and via remote proctoring.
- CLEP requires no coursework. Free and affordable online study resources are available.
All students can benefit from CLEP exams, including those who:
- Have knowledge in a CLEP exam subject.
- Are proficient in Spanish, German, or French.
- Want to meet college math requirements like college algebra or precalculus.
College Applications
Seniors, make sure you check the deadlines for college applications at the universities you want to apply to! A common deadline for many college applications is November 1st!
Students will be meeting with Mrs. Allen individually to touch base and answer any questions regarding the application process. It would be wise for students to spend some time exploring CommonApp prior to their time with Mrs. Allen so that they can input their schools of interest and have a clear picture of what will be required for their application to each university. It would also be wise for students to begin considering which teachers they would like to reach out to for letters of recommendation in order to be considerate of deadlines.
As you get acceptance letters and scholarship offers, please report those to Mrs. Allen, who is tracking this for our Class of 2027!
FAFSA
As of now, FAFSA opens October 1, 2026 and the deadline for applications is April 15, 2027.

College Essays
Mrs. Allen is available during 3rd and 4th periods for “Senior Support” to connect with seniors for essay support. Students can email Mrs. Allen ([email protected]) to set up an appointment. Students will also be called down several times throughout the year for needed points of connection.
Note: During the spring of 2026, all ECHS juniors wrote a “Common App Essay” of choice in English/Language Arts class. Students are encouraged to strengthen these essays for college admission use.
ParentSquare Group
A “Senior Support” Group has been set up this year to serve as a platform and communication hub for the ECHS Class of 2026. The latest senior updates on available scholarships/grants, application deadlines, essay support, College GO Week, etc., will be posted here for all senior students to access.
Parchment
Parchment is the secure online service ECS seniors use to request and send their official high school transcripts to colleges, scholarship programs, and other organizations. Seniors should create and maintain their own Parchment account so they are ready to request transcripts throughout the college application process and beyond. A join code that has been sent to your ECS email. Please use that code to create your account.
Scholarships
Any scholarship opportunities that become available will be posted to the Senior Support ParentSquare group as well as this Class of 2027 Grant & Scholarship Opportunities Document for students and parents to access.
