CLEP

An increasing number of high school students are getting a head start on earning college degrees by taking CLEP® exams. Did you know that in 90 to 120 minutes your teen could earn three or more credits and save an average of $2,700 on one three-hour college course?*

About CLEP:

All students can benefit from CLEP exams, including those who:

  • Have knowledge in a CLEP exam subject.
  • Are proficient in Spanish, German, or French.
  • Want to meet college math requirements like college algebra or precalculus.

College Applications

Seniors, make sure you check the deadlines for college applications at the universities you want to apply to! A common deadline for many college applications is November 1!

Students will be meeting with Mrs. Truman individually to touch base and answer any questions regarding the application process. It would be wise for students to spend some time exploring CommonApp prior to their time with Mrs. Truman so that they can input their schools of interest and have a clear picture of what will be required for their application to each university. It would also be wise for students to begin considering which teachers they would like to reach out to for letters of recommendation in order to be considerate of deadlines.

As you get acceptance letters and scholarship offers, please report those to Mrs. Truman, who is tracking this for our Class of 2024!

FAFSA

FAFSA is now open! Don’t forget, the deadline is April 15. Visit https://learnmoreindiana.org/paying-for-college/fafsa/ for assistance and more information. Secure your financial aid for college today!

College Essays

Mrs. Allen is available during 7th period for “Senior Support” to connect with seniors for essay support.  Students can email Mrs. Allen ([email protected]) to set up an appointment.  Students will also be called down several times throughout the year for needed points of connection.

Note:   During the spring of 2023, all ECHS juniors wrote a “Common App Essay” of choice in English/Language Arts class.  Students are encouraged to strengthen these essays for college admission use.

Google Classroom

A “Senior Support Google Classroom” has been set up this year to serve as a platform and communication hub for the ECHS Class of 2024.  The latest senior updates  on application deadlines, essay support, College GO Week, etc., will be posted here for all senior students to access.

Parchment

If you have not created a Parchment account please do so ASAP! Parchment is how you will view and send your transcript. There is a join code that has been sent to your ECS email. Please use that code to create your account.
