Evansville Christian School Named a 2026 Indiana Blue Ribbon School
Evansville Christian School is proud to announce an extraordinary milestone in our school’s history: ECS has been named an Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) 2026 Blue Ribbon School!
When the Indiana Department of Education evaluated all accredited (public, non-public and charter) schools across the state, ECS stood out among thousands of institutions as one of only 16 schools statewide recognized for the highest achievement in academic performance. This elite designation celebrates top-tier academic outcomes across our entire organization, from foundational early childhood literacy through high school graduation.
Earned Through State-Leading Academic Performance
This state designation is grounded in rigorous, objective data evaluated across every public and private school in Indiana. As stated by the Indiana Department of Education:
“Indiana’s Blue Ribbon Schools consistently perform at the highest levels on measures that matter most for student success. This includes academic mastery (reading, math, and college- and career-readiness) as measured by state assessments, along with strong attendance… Together, these criteria highlight our highest performing schools, including those that are using innovative approaches to meet the needs of all learners.”

“Being 1 of 16 schools honored as a Blue Ribbon school out of approximately 2,750 schools in the state places our Eagles’ achievement in the top 0.57% of schools in Indiana,” said 6th grade teacher, Sarah Woodard. “It’s no accident: At ECS teachers deliver rigorous instruction knowing students are image-bearers of God – that includes being made with an incredible capacity for greatness. ECS leads the way in keeping Jesus Christ at the center of our work. We know that when we ‘Commit [our] work to the Lord, …[our] plans will succeed’ (Proverbs 16:3). In all we do, we want to make Christ known – from instructing tiny Preschoolers to cheering for graduating seniors to every stage of learning that’s in between; when Christ is the center, ECS shines!”
