General Information
The ECS Family Handbook is updated each year and is available on the Parents page of the school website. The purpose of our handbook is to provide a framework of mutual understanding as the school, parents, and students all have important roles in a successful school experience for the glory of God.
After submitting your child’s online enrollment packet, the admission process for attending ECS is complete and your child is officially an Eagle! The Business Office will contact you with instructions to apply for financial aid options, including the Indiana Choice Scholarship and tuition assistance from ECS.
On the school calendar, you’ll find the drop-off and dismissal times for each grade level. To accommodate families with students in different grade levels, the school day start and end times are staggered to allow time for transportation among campuses.
ECS has trained health coordinators at each campus. Per Indiana Board of Health guidelines, students’ physical and immunization records must be on file.
Medical plans (e.g., Asthma or Allergy Action Plans) require a physician-signed update each year, submitted before the first day of school.
High school athletes must complete an annual sports physical per IHSAA rules. Forms are available on the ECS Athletics website.
To send medical records, email [email protected] or fax 812-469-0261.
The dress code at ECS is designed with several goals in mind: to further our mission and philosophy of education, be easy to understand, be easy to enforce, be affordable, minimize rules, and maximize values. Our desire is to instill values of modesty and train our children to have an overall perspective that will survive the ever-changing fashion cycles.
Students do not wear uniforms; however, the students do follow a dress code and the policy is available in the Family Handbook.
ECS has an online spirit wear store with items available for purchase year-round to show your Eagle spirit! Sport-specific spirit wear is available seasonally and is pre-purchase only. Band polos are available for purchase year-round.
PE uniforms for students in 4th grade through high school are available online and in campus offices.
Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten: Before and After School Care (BASC) is operated and staffed by ECS at the Crossroads Campus for Preschool and Pre-K students from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Rates for Before & After School Care can be found with our Tuition & Fees Information. During the final part of the online enrollment process, parents of Preschool and Pre-K students have the option to select before school care, after school care, or both. Changes to your selection can be made by contacting the ECS Business Office.
Kindergarten – 8th Grade: BASC is also available at our Elementary Campus for Kindergarten-8th grade. 7th & 8th grade students from our Middle School Campus ride the bus to/from our Elementary Campus for BASC without an additional fee. 7th & 8th grade students attending BASC should complete an ECS Bus Form available from the ECS school office must be completed each year.
Starting in the 2025/26 school year, BASC for K-8 will be on-site at Evansville Christian School’s Elementary Campus and fully operated by the YMCA. All aspects of the program, including enrollment, day-to-day operations, and payments, are managed directly by the YMCA. Click here for BASC registration information on the YMCA’s website.
We truly value partnership with parents to help make their child’s educational experience successful and meaningful. ECS has an active Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) which involves parents in volunteer opportunities, encourages fellowship, and raises funds for needs within the school. There will be opportunities to get involved with PTF once the school year starts.
Parents are also encouraged to get involved in a variety of roles, such as coaching elementary and middle school athletic teams or volunteering with fine arts, based on your areas of interest!
After your child is enrolled, you will begin receiving ParentSquare communications regarding school activities in which your child can get involved. For 1st-8th grades, the Athletics, Fine Arts, and Extra-curricular Club opportunities are grade-level specific, and parents will be emailed with details, including cost, when registration opens.
At the high school level, students are notified via email and school announcements when “call out meetings” are scheduled for students who are interested in learning more about the team or club requirements.
Bus transportation is available between campuses, making it convenient for families with students at multiple locations and for middle schoolers needing before or after school care. A morning and afternoon bus route also runs from Christian Fellowship Church (CFC).
A new Bus Transportation Form must be submitted to the Business Office each school year.
Space is limited, with priority given to students in Before and After School Care and families with students at multiple campuses. Fees may apply, and route details can be found on the Bus Transportation Form available at the school office.
