The library program utilizes Christian literature and materials in the curriculum to promote a Christian world view to our students.  We try to promote an appreciation for good literature utilizing different techniques, media and special events, such as the celebration of Children's Book Week and book fairs.  Students attend library classes every week where they develop an appreciation of good literature.  We provide materials for special interests and recreational reading.  Students receive formal and informal instruction in the use of the library and information skills.  The library curriculum is sequential and the curriculum for each grade is built upon previous learning experiences.

Japanese Culture Day in the Library

Students taking AR quizzes

Accelerated Reader is an innovative computerized learning information system that provides teachers with a creative means of motivating every student to dramatically increase reading and develop a lifelong love of reading.  The program is as easy as A-B-C.  The student reads a book.  The student takes a short quiz.  The teacher gets a report.  The ultimate winners are the students themselves, because the increased reading will likely improve their standardized and performance-based test scores.  It also builds valuable critical-thinking and real-world problem solving skills that will help the students throughout their lives.
